Sort 12 Syllable Juncture in VCV and VCCV Patterns

Author: Cullen Louise
Description: Sort the words according to the vowel / consonant pattern at the syllable juncture. As you say each word, ask yourself: Is the vowel sound in the first syllable a long vowel (VCV) sound or a short vowel sound (VCCV)? Take care with any %27oddballs%27. Think: Where would the syllable juncture be? If the vowel sound in the first syllable is a long vowel sound - the syllable juncture will be immediately after the vowel. This is an %27open syllable%27. If the vowel sound in the first syllable is a short vowel sound - the syllable juncture will follow the vowel-consonant. This is a %27closed syllable%27.
